who we are?
“F.A.T. Laboratories” is a spinoff company of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens established in October 2025 offering cutting-edge, model-informed approaches for drug, generics, supergenerics development and assessment based on the Finite Absorption Time (F.A.T.) concept. We revamped the development of drugs in Phases I,
II and III (https://rdcu.be/epESG ) and we revised the strategy of IVIVC used for the development of generics ( https://doi.org/10.1007/s11095-024-03653-x). In this context, we carry model-informed Phases I, II and III , bioavailability, bioequivalence and clinical studies.
A bit of history
In 2019 Emeritus Professor Panos Macheras (CV) questioned the unphysical assumption of infinite absorption time introduced in 1953 in pharmacokinetics.
Since then, Panos in collaboration with Associate Professor of Chemistry Athanasios Tsekouras (CV) led a team of PhD students Pavlos Chryssafidis Physicist, Nikos Alimpertis Informatics and MSc students Antony Simitopoulos Chemist, Ilas Toulitsis Material scientist, Athina Kalantzi pharmacist; they developed the Finite Absorption Time (F.A.T.) concept, the relevant Physiologically Finite Time Pharmacokinetic (PBFTPK) models and applied to the analysis of numerous pharmacokinetic , bioavailability and bioequivalence data using home-made software. Associate Professor Konstantinos Georgakopoulos (CV) is the Head of Pharmaceutical Analysis Laboratory.
Professor Sotirios Tsiodras (CV) is the Head of Clinical Studies Unit.
